Use Texel, step by step

Everything that runs on Texel today, from the first signature to a GPU over SSH.

Get started

Your wallet is your account on Texel, with no email and no password.

  1. Open the dashboard and press Connect wallet. Pick a wallet of your browser, or WalletConnect for a wallet on your phone.
  2. Press Sign in and sign one message. It costs no gas and moves no funds.
  3. The Overview shows your credits, your spend, and your running instances.

Texel runs on Robinhood Chain. When you buy credits, your wallet switches to it.

Texel credits

One Texel credit pays for $1 of outputs and rentals at their listed prices. At launch a credit costs 0.70 USDG, so everything is 30% off.

  1. Open Billing.
  2. Pick an amount from 5 to 1,000 USDG. You get shows the credits it buys: 5 USDG buys 7.14 credits.
  3. Press Buy credits and sign once. Texel sends the transfer and pays its gas.
  4. The credits show up once Robinhood Chain confirms the deposit. Until then, it waits under Waiting for the chain.
  • Each deposit in your history links to the explorer of Robinhood Chain.
  • Balances are cut down, never rounded up.
  • Credits stay with your wallet and do not turn back into USDG.

Make outputs

The Playground makes images, video, and voice with ready models. An output takes its credits at the listed price when you press Make, and gives them back if it fails.

  1. Open the Playground and pick a model.
  2. Write a prompt of up to 2,000 characters, or the text of a voice of up to 1,000 characters.
  3. Pick a size. Square, Wide, and Tall fit every image and every video, and Custom sets any size an image model takes. The price shows before you make it.
  4. Press Make. The output is made in the background, so you can leave the page while it is made.
  5. Find it under Outputs, where you can play it and download it.

Prices are in Texel credits, at their listed prices.

  • FLUX.1 [schnell]Image

    0.004 credits per 1 megapixel

    Any size from 256 to 1,536 pixels a side, in steps of 64

  • Z-Image TurboImage

    0.008 credits per 1 image

    8 sizes, up to 1280 × 1280

  • Pruna VideoVideo

    0.15 credits per 5 seconds

    A clip of 5 seconds

  • MiniMax SpeechVoice

    0.08 credits per 1,000 characters

    Up to 1,000 characters

Your outputs stay in this browser. Download a file to keep it anywhere else.

Free outputs

A wallet with at least 1,000 $TEXEL makes 50 images and 2 videos free in each UTC day. After that, its outputs take credits.

  • The Playground shows Free beside the listed price, and how many free outputs are left today.
  • New free outputs come at 00:00 UTC.
  • A voice always takes credits.
  • A free output that fails does not count.

The contract address of $TEXEL is on the homepage, ready to copy.

Earn

Every wallet with $TEXEL gets tokenized NVDA on Robinhood Chain, split by how much $TEXEL each one has.

  • A round runs every hour while Earn has NVDA to share. It splits its NVDA by how much $TEXEL each wallet had and for how many seconds.
  • A wallet counts in a round when it still has $TEXEL at the end of it. Pools, other contracts, and the burn address do not count.
  • Texel sends each wallet its NVDA and pays the gas, so there is nothing to claim.
  • A share under 0.0001 NVDA waits in the contract and goes out with a later round.
  1. Have $TEXEL in a wallet you control, such as the one you sign in with.
  2. To see the NVDA in your wallet app, add tokenized NVDA by its address: 0xd0601CE157Db5bdC3162BbaC2a2C8aF5320D9EEC.
  3. After each round, your share of its NVDA comes to that wallet.

The Earn contract on the explorer of Robinhood Chain shows every round and every payout.

Rent a GPU

Rent a whole NVIDIA GPU with SSH and Jupyter, billed by the second in Texel credits. Renting is open to tester wallets.

The Marketplace lists 28 GPUs at their listed rates, from an RTX 2000 Ada at $0.24 an hour to a B300 at $8.99 an hour.

Make an SSH key on your computer
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -f ~/.ssh/texel -C "texel"
cat ~/.ssh/texel.pub
  1. Make an SSH key with the commands above, and copy the line that the second one prints.
  2. Open SSH keys, paste the line under Public key, give it a name, and press Add key. A wallet keeps up to 10 keys, and every new instance takes all of them.
  3. Open the Marketplace and press Rent on a GPU, or Rent the cheapest free GPU. A busy GPU charges nothing. An instance starts when your credits pay for at least 10 minutes of it.
  4. Open My instances and wait for Running. Billing starts the second SSH is ready, so the start is free.
  5. Copy the SSH command from the instance card, add -i ~/.ssh/texel, and run it. PyTorch and CUDA come installed.
  6. For Jupyter, copy the tunnel command, add -i ~/.ssh/texel, and leave it running. Then open the Jupyter link from the card.
  7. Press End instance when you are done. The instance and its 50 GB disk are deleted, and its credits stop at that second.
  • Leaving SSH does not end an instance. End instance does.
  • A wallet runs one instance at a time, for up to 4 hours.
  • When the credits run low, My instances warns 10 minutes ahead, and a deposit keeps the instance running.
  • An instance that ended stays under Ended for a day, with the time it ran and the credits it took.

Billing

Billing shows your balance, the price of a credit, and your spend of the last 14 days.

  • Every deposit, output, and rental is a line of your history.
  • A rental is one line that grows while its instance runs, then comes down to the seconds it ran.
  • The Overview shows your credits, your spend, your running instances, and your recent activity.

Receipts

Every rental and every output on Texel gets a receipt. Each hour, Texel writes one root of that hour's receipts to a contract on Robinhood Chain, so a receipt changed later stops matching the chain.

  • A receipt holds the GPU or the model, its size or its seconds, the credits it took, its hour, and whether it was free.
  • It holds no prompt and no file, and a wallet code stands in place of the wallet.
  • The rentals and outputs of an hour get their receipts a few minutes after it ends.
  1. Open Billing and find a receipt under Receipts.
  2. Press Copy Verify link. The link shows the receipt and your wallet to anyone who opens it.
  3. Open the link. The page checks the receipt against Robinhood Chain in your browser, with no server of Texel.

The receipts page shows every hour with its seal, the totals of each day, and the USDG deposits behind the credits.

Rebuild the root of an hour
// npm install @openzeppelin/merkle-tree viem
// node rebuild-hour.mjs 2026-11-07T05

  functionName: "seals",
  args: [BigInt(hour.seal.hour)],
});
console.log(root === onchain && count === values.length
  ? "The root matches Robinhood Chain."
  : "The root does not match Robinhood Chain.");

Contracts

Texel runs these contracts on Robinhood Chain. Each address opens its page on the explorer.

Texel works with these tokens on Robinhood Chain.
